Redmi note 9s vs Infinix note 7 |
Considering the above similarities, it could look almost impossible to pick one over the other, but a detailed comparison between the Infinix Note 7 vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 s clearly gives us a winner over the other, despite their seemingly close similarity.
Let's start our comparison with:
Let's start our comparison with:
Body built and design.
The Infinix note 7 measures173.4 x 79 x 8.8 mm and weights 206 g while the redmi note 9s measures 162.5 x 76.9 x 9mm and weights 195 g.
This means the note 7 is much taller and wider than the Redmi Note 9S, and slightly slimmer as well. However, the redmi note 9s is much lighter.
While the Infinix note 7 is entirely built of plastic, the redmi note 9 has a glass front and back with a plastic frame. What is noticeable is the use of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection in both front and back of the redmi note 9s, something that is entirely missing in the Note 7.
The processor.
The redmi note 9s is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G(8nm), while the Infinix note 7 spots a Mediatek Helio G70(12nm).
Both chipsets are optimized for gaming, and were announced January This year.
While both are intented for midrange smartphones, the Snapdragon 720G, being an 8nm fabricated chipset is more efficient than the 12 nm Helio G70.
Both companies will promise a better gaming experience with their phone since gaming chipsets tend to have better graphic rendering as compared to usual processors.
A closer comparison between the two processors indicates that the Snapdragon 720G is better than the Helio G70.
The 720G has a slightly better gaming performance, higher download and upload speeds and performs better in various benchmark tests as compared to the G70.
Thus we can clearly conclude that in terms of performance the Redmi note 9S also outshines the Infinix Note 7.
Software Performance.
Being 2020 smartphones, both devices feature Android 10 OS with the XOS 6.0 skin for Infinix and MIUI 11 for redmi note 9. With no clean android version, both according to me get the same score here.
Cameras.
Both devices feature a quad rear camera setup with the redmi note 9 giving us a 48 MP wide primary lens, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, a 5MP macro and a 2 MP depth sensor.
All the cameras are housed in a rectangular design near the top center back of the phone.
On it's part, the Infinix note 7 features a 48 MP primary lens, a 2 MP macro, a 2 MP depth sensor and a 2 MP dedicated video camera. The cameras are beautifully housed in a circular casing at the centre back of the phone, an imitation of Nokia.

Displays.
While the Infinix Note 7 features a 6.95 inch screen, the redmi note 9 has a slightly smaller screen at 6.67 inch, a difference of 0.28 inches.
While the Infinix Note 7 features a 6.95 inch screen, the redmi note 9 has a slightly smaller screen at 6.67 inch, a difference of 0.28 inches.
Both phones feature a punch hole design, but while the redmi note 9s has it's selfie camera at the center, the Note 7 has it's selfie placed at the top left of the Display. Usually there's a believe that placing the selfie punch hole at the top left has less distraction that the one placed at the centre, but to me any punch hole design is even much worst than the waterdrop displays.
Both displays are IPS LCD, and while we have seen some few phones come with AMOLED displays at such a price, it looks like non of these phones were willing to give us that luxury. The Note 7 features an HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels, the redmi note 9s has a full HD + resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.
This results to a pixel density of 258 ppi in the note 7 and 395 ppi in the redmi note 9S.
Comparing the two, it is clear that you will have a better display experience with the redmi note 9s, and watching videos on the Infinix note 7s will be quiet unpleasant.
At such a price range we always advice our readers not to buy a smartphone with less than 350 ppi, since the lower the value the poorer the viewing experience.

The note 7 is entirely made of plastic with a glass front, and has totally zero protection. This means you will have to be extra careful with this smartphone. On the other hand hand, the redmi note 9s has a glass front and back with a plastic frame. What is noticeable however is it's Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection both in front and back, a luxury that isn't easy to come by at such a price. The phone also offers partial water and dust resistance.

Both phones are available in two Variants, a 4GB with 64 GB of internal storage and a 6GB RAM with 128 GB of storage. While the 4GB variant is slightly cheaper, it would be great if one can get the 6GB variant.

Both have almost the same camera performance, considering that they have the same 48Mp primary lens.
In terms of video shooting, the note 7 supports HD video shooting of 1080p@30fps. On the other hand, the redmi note 9s supports quite a number of video resolution starting from HD+ of 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps,720p@960fps.
Both devices feature a punch hole front camera of 16 MP with video shooting support. While the redmi note 9s has a centrally placed selfie camera, the note 7 placed it's punch hole at the top left for minimal distractions when using the full screen view.

Battery.
The redmi note 9s is powered by a non removable Li-po 5020 mAh battery while the Infinix note 7 sports a 5,000 mAh battery.
Both to me have the same capacity, and both support 18 W fast charge.
Pros of Infinix note 7 over Xiaomi redmi note 9s.
