Nokia C3 Price In Kenya And Full Phone Specifications

Nokia C3 Price In Kenya And Specifications
Released August 2020, the Nokia C3 is the latest of the Nokia C series Smartphones with a retail price of Ksh. 11,500 in Kenya.

The entry level Smartphone features some of the best specs in the Nokia C series including a bigger memory, bigger screen and becomes the first Nokia C smartphone to feature the Google Assistant button first seen in the Nokia 4.2.

Other Nokia C smartphones are the Nokia C1 of December 2019, Nokia C2 released March 2020, Nokia C2 Tennen, Nokia C2 Tava and C5 Endi all released for Cricket USA and the Nokia C1 Plus announced December last year and released January this year.

All these phones are entry-level Android phones largely seen as alternatives to feature phones with a number of similarities including removable batteries, a more traditional design and entry level processors.

The Nokia C3 becomes the first Nokia C phone to feature a fingerprint scanner, placed at the back just below the camera module. It also spots a face unlock, but considering this is an entry level Android phone you might not expect them to be as fast as in flagship devices.

It features a big 5.99 inch screen, the second biggest in the series after the 6.52 inch of the Nokia C5 Endi. However it's bigger than the 5.45 in the C1 and C1 Plus and Nokia C2 Tennen. It is also slightly bigger than the 5.7 inch in the Nokia C2.

As you can see from the image above, the phone retains the tradition Android look with very thick bezels at the top and bottom and a Nokia logo at the bottom Chin. The Google Assistant button is placed at the Left side and the power button plus volume rockers at the right side. At the top is the 3.5 mm jack and the Micro-USB port is placed at the bottom of the phone.

The back of the phone is also as basic as it gets, with the tiny camera module placed at the top center and the fingerprint scanner comes just below it. The plastic back can be removed to give you access to the Sim card trays and the SD card port, after also removing the battery.

Despite the slightly bigger screen, the phone still features the same HD + display resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels just like the others. The increased display size however results in a slightly lower pixel density of 269 ppi, compared to the 295 ppi in the C2.

Despite not being part of the Android one program, the Nokia C3 comes with a clean Android 10 user interface with no bloatware just like other Nokia phones though it is not entitled to regular software and security updates like Android one certified phones.

The phone is powered by a Unisoc SC9863A chipset, a 28nm processor that has an Octa-core CPU with top clock speed of 1.6 GHz. This is as basic as it gets and though slightly better than the quad-core 1.3 GHz in the Nokia C1 it is still a basic processor and won't expect much out of it except basic smartphone operations.

Unlike other Nokia C smartphones, the Nokia C3 comes in two variants of 2GB and 3GB RAM. The 2GB one has 16GB internal storage while the 3GB one comes with 32GB of internal storage. You can expand the storage in both variants upto 128 GB via an SD card with a dedicated card slot.

The phone also comes with two cameras, a single 8MP rear camera and 5MP selfie camera. Still you will expect very basic photography with this phone and the pictures won't look that good for your social media pictures.

Nokia C3 Pros And Cons:

  • Big 5.9 display, bigger than other Nokia C1 phones and many entry level phones.
  • Has a dedicated Google Assistant button to recall the Google virtual assistant.
  • Bigger memory size of 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage expandable upto 128 GB via an SD card.
  • Supports both fingerprint and face unlock, a feature that's missing in other Nokia C phones.
  • Is 4G LTE enabled.
  • Slightly low rated display resolution.
  • Basic camera performance that's below bar.
  • Small battery capacity of 3040 mAh that barely lasts a day.
Nokia C3 Price in Kenya.
Despite it's release in  August last year, the Nokia C3 is not yet available in many stores countrywide, though already available in a number of Nokia key markets including India, Srilanka, Nepal, UAE and Bargain among other Nokia markets.
The Nokia C3 is priced at Ksh. 11,500, putting the phone at lockerheads with the likes of Infinix Hot 8, Infinix Smart 5, Tecno Spark 5 Air, Tecno Pop 4 Air, Samsung Galaxy MO2S, Galaxy AO2 among other budget Smartphones.
Considering that most of these Competitors have much better specs including better processors, bigger screens and bigger batteries, the Nokia C3 is likely going to have a difficult time to sell, unless Nokia brings it's price below Ksh. 9,000.
