Oppo have Launched their latest A series smartphone the Oppo A54 priced at Ksh. 20,499 and expected to be available in the country soon.

This budget phone features typical specifications of a budget Smartphone consisting of a HD+ display, a Mediatek Helio P35 processor and a 5,000 mAh battery.

The Oppo A54 has a 6.51 inch IPS LCD screen with a HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a pixel density of 270 ppi. This is almost the same display quality of a 10K phone and there is nothing out of ordinary here when it comes to the display.

It is powered by the Mediatek Helio P35, a chipset that was initially ment for mid-range phones but is now seen as a budget chipset. This is the same processor in a number of 2019 and 2020 phones including the Tecno Phantom 9, Infinix S5 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy A21 among other phones.

Unlike many phones that come with a number of memory variants, the Oppo A54 is available in only one memory variant of 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage making it one of the few budget phones with such an amount of storage. You can choose between two colors of  Crystal Black and Starry Blue. 

In the camera department the Oppo A54 has a total of four Cameras, three in the rear and one in front. The rear cameras are made up of a 13MP primary camera, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. In front is a single 16MP wide angle selfie Camera. Supported Camera features include LED flash, panorama, HDR and can shoot 1080p videos the same as the 13MP selfie camera.

The phone is powered by a non removable 5,000 mAh battery big enough to last you up to three days with a single charge. It also supports 18W fast charge good enough for a phone at this price.

The Oppo A54 is expected to retail at around Ksh. 20,499 once it begins selling in the country. The phone will however have to proof it's worth over a number of strong contentors that are within the same price range and with similar or slightly better specifications.

Most of these phones have the same memory and camera specs, but Xiaomi phones have Full HD displays instead of the HD+ in the A54 and have Gorilla Glass Protection making them highly preffred over their Competitors. Others like the F17 have much faster charging.

As just stated above, the Oppo A54 has a number of features that one could be looking for in a smartphone and while I feel the phone is slightly overpriced some of it's strengths include:
