Released January this year, the Infinix Hot 10 Play is now available in Kenya with an average retail price of Ksh. 11,499. It is the third phone in the budget Infinix Hot series after the Hot 10 and Hot 10 Lite released late last year.
It has a number of similar specs as the Hot 10, but there are also a number of diffrences that one should be aware of before deciding which one of the three Hot 10 phones is best for them.
The Infinix Hot 10 Play features a 6.82 inch IPS LCD screen, the biggest in the Hot 10 series with the Hit 10 having a 6.78 inch and the Hot 10 Lite having a 6.6 inch display.
This is a big display exactly the same as that of the Hot 9 and is a few inches shy of the 7.0 inch screen if the Tecno Spark 5 Air.
Despite it's huge size it has a HD + display resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels resulting in a very low pixel Density of 263 ppi. We are yet to see an Infinix budget phone with a Full HD display, and adding a few shillings gets you Xiaomi's Redmi 9T which has a good Full HD+ display of 1080 x 2340 pixels.
Apart from the Plastic back and the plastic frame, the Redmi Note 9 features an impressive Corilla Glass 5 screen, something that is also hard to come by at this price. This ensures zero screen scratches and gives your phone the maximum durability that is a preserve of flagship devices. Despite not having an IP rating, the phone features a Dual water repellent coating for extra resistance.
The phone ships with Android 11 atop XOS 7.0 Skin. XOS has not been my best, considering the amount of bloatware and ads that come with it, and we hope Infinix do something about this in future.
The Hot 10 power is powered by the Mediated Helio G35, a12nm fabricated chipset that has an Octa-core CPU with a top clock-speed of 2.0 GHz. The budget gaming chipset is fairly good and you won't have any reason to complain about as far as the performance of this phone is concerned.
The processor is backed by either 4GB RAM which is more than enough for your multitasking or light Gaming. It also spots the Mediatek Helio G85 processor, a
You can choose between three memory Variants of 3+64 GB, 4+64 or 4+ 128 GB, available in three color variants of Forest Green, Midnight Grey and Polar White.
In the camera department the Hot 10 Play comes with a total of three Cameras, two in the rear and one in front. The rear cameras are made up of a primary 13 MP lens and an unspecified AI camera lens. The cameras produce decent photos but don't expect flagship camera performance here. in front is a single 8MP selfie camera.
The phone is powered by a non removable 6,000 mAh battery which can last you over two days with a single charge. However it still retains the old Micro-USB charging port.
Infinix Hot 10 Play Price In Kenya.
The 4+64 GB Hot 10 Play is currently retailing at Ksh. 14,499, a good fair deal considering the Specifications of this phone.
At this price the Hot 10 play faces stiff Competition from other budget phones including the Infinix Hot 10, realme C12, Tecno Spark 5 Air among other similarly priced phones.
The Realme C12 has a number of similar specs with the Hot 10 Play including a similar 6,000 mAh battery and the same Mediated Helio G35 Processor.
Why buy the Hot 10 Play.
A big 6.82 inch display big enough for playing games and watching videos. However it's low resolution and pixel density ruins the experience.
A big 6,000 mAh battery that can last you days with a single charge.
