Mediatek Helio G70 is a budget System On Chip (SOC) released January 2020 by Mediatek, a chip maker that targets to lower Smartphone prices by producing highly efficient chipsets at competitive prices.

It is a 12 nm FinFet fabricated with a 64-bit architecture and quad-core CPU with 2 x 2 GHz Cortex-A75 and 6 x 1.7 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. This is a quite good combination for it's sub 10 K price target, outperforming most of it's rivals.

The Helio G70 is a gaming chipset with a powerful Arm Mali-G52MC2 GPU with a top clock-speed of 1800 MHz, and coupled with the Mediatek HyperEngine Game Technology it provides an excellent gaming experience. It ensures fast high graphics rendering, as well as other inbuilt AI gaming functions for better gaming experience. It even allows you an option to defer incoming calls while in-game without the connection dropping for a moment.

It supports upto 8 GB RAM LPDDR4X memory with a emmc 5.1 storage type. It also allows dual camera setup of upto 16 MP + 16 MP or a single camera of upto 48 MP.

Seen as a budget gaming chipset, the Helio G70 first featured in realme C3, a budget smartphone seen as a worthy successor of the C2. The phone launched January 2020 and apart from a big HD+ display it also had other exciting features for a phone at it's price including a good memory size of 3 or 4 GB as well as 32 or 64 GB internal storage.
The following Month (February), realme also released the second Helio G70 smartphone, the realme Nazro 10 A. It had almost the same specs and the C3, but had a Tripple camera setup instead of the dual in the C2. However, the chipset's limitation of a maximum 16 MP dual camera ment that realme had to go for a 12 MP primary camera and other two 2 MP secondary lenses.
Come April 2020 and Infinix would launch their first ever Helio G70 smartphone, the Infinix Note 7 While this had some nice specs as compared to it's predecessor the Note 6 including a punch hole huge display, there was a feeling that the Infinix Note 7 didn't really love upto the spirit of the Note series, and the processor was much more lower rated for a Note device.
We couldn't help but air our dissapointment, and we strongly felt that Infinix should have instead gone for the Helio G80 or the G90.
Noticing their mistake, Infinix moved very fast to launch the Note 8 in October 21st 2020, now with the Mediatek Helio G80.
Exactly One month later, they launched the Infinix Hot 10 on November 21st, and this time used the Helio G70 in it's exact price category, the sub 10 K budget segment.
Apart from this, the Hot 10 also came with a 3 or 4GB RAM with an option to choose between a 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage.

All the above phones have a rather low HD display resolution despite the Chipset having the capacity to give Full HD displays of 1080 x 2520 pixels. This is not doing justice to this powerful processor, and we hope we will see a much better home early 2021.
Realme have done a good job in protecting their devices, with both the C3 and Nazro A10 coming with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 front Glass. They also come with 480 nits maximum brightness making them useful outdoors. Infinix Hot 10 and Note 7 don't have any display protection.
With it comes to cameras, Infinix have done pretty well and pushed the Helio G70 to it's maximum capabilities, qiving us quad camera in both the Hot 10 and Note 7.
All the above smartphones come with Android 10 out of the box, with the realme UI and Infinix XOS skins respectively.
