The Nokia X10 is the first of the Nokia X series, a mid-range 5G phone expected to retail at around Ksh. 35,500 once it begins selling in the country.
The X10 features a 6.67 inch IPS LCD screen with a Full HD display resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It also has an impressive pixel density of 395 ppi with an aspect ratio of 20:9. This is the same display quality as that of the x20 and slightly bigger than the 6.2 inch of the Nokia G10 and G20 also launched together with this phone on April 8th. It is actually the same size as that of Xiaomi's Redmi Note 9 announced April last year, both phones also having the same display resolution as well.
Another impressive feature of the X10 apart from it’s display is the Snapdragon 480 processor, a powerful 5G chipset build for mid-range 5G Smartphones announced January this year. The Snapdragon 480 is the first 400 series chipset to support 5G and will greatly bring down prices of 5G phones. It is already powering a number of phones including the Motorola Moto G50, Vivo u3x and the VivoY31s. The chipset has an Octa-core CPU with a top clock-speed of 2.0 GHz,a powerful mid-range processor that can handle pretty any task without much struggle.
The 4 or 6 GB onboard RAM on the X10 is also a huge boost to the Processor and you will multitask or play Games without any problem with this phone. There's also plenty of internal storage with an option to choose between 64 or 128 GB that can be expanded via an SD card using the shared second Sim slot.
The phone also comes with a 4,470 mAh non removable battery that supports 18W fast charge. This might look small when compared with other brands, but by Nokia's standards it's very big. It is slightly smaller than the 5,000 mAh in the G10 and G20, Nokia's biggest battery size ever. However to me the 18W fast charge won’t make much of a difference and is just more of a marketing stunt considering that even budget phones like the Infinix Hot 10 have the same fast charging. Nokia should have given us at least 33W in this phone.
Unknown to many, Samsung is currently the leading in big phone batteries with the Galaxy M51 and the recently launched A32 both having 7,000 mAh batteries. No other brand has come so close, though I stand to be corrected here.
Nokia X10 Price In Kenya.
The x10 is expected to retail at around Ksh.35,500 once it begins selling, though we could see a significant price drop by the time it becomes Globally available. This is because a number of brands including Xiaomi have a range of 5G enabled phones that have much better specs compared to this phone and at the same price of much cheaper.
The X10 already has a number of Competitors it will have to battle with including the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 5G, the Motorola Edge S and Xiaomi Mi 10s among other mid-range 5G phones.
Most of these phones have an advantage of an AMOLED display and much more powerful processors like the Snapdragon 870 5G. Some also have better camera performance.
1. The X10 is an affordable 5G phone, and once it will be one of the 5G phones in Kenya.
2. The phone has a big 6.7 inch screen with a good Full HD display resolution making it good for watching videos and playing games.
