The Samsung Galaxy A12 is one of Samsung’s Budget Android smartphones currently available in USA with prices starting at around $179.99 for the 32GB variant.

Announced  November and Released December 2020, the Galaxy A12 is a powerful budget smartphone that closely rivals the likes of Nokia 3.4, Oppo A12 and Oppo A31. These phones have almost the same specs but considering the price of the Samsung Galaxy A12 there's no doubt it is the best among it's peers. It has some impressive specs that the Competitors don’t have like the 128 GB internal storage and Quad cameras.

The Samsung Galaxy A12 features a 6.5 inch PLS IPS screen with a display resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. This is bigger than the 6.26 inch in the Nokia 3.4 and the 6.22 inch in the Oppo A12. It is actually the same size as in the Samsung Galaxy A21S and the Galaxy M12, both also having the same display resolution as this phone.

Another impressive feature of the Galaxy A12 apart from it’s big display is the Mediatek Helio P35 processor, a powerful Chipset that was initially ment for mid-range Smartphones but is now found in a number of budget phones including the Oppo A12 and the Galaxy M12. This is a powerful budget processor that can handle pretty any task without much struggle, and I usually prefer it over a number of budget processors like the Snapdragon 429 and the Mediatek Helio P22. 

The 3 or 4 GB onboard RAM is also a huge boost to this Processor and you will multitask or play Games without any problem with this phone. While many of it’s Competitors only have upto 64 GB of internal storage, the Samsung Galaxy A12 has upto 128 GB storage becoming almost the only phone under 15K to have such amount of storage.

The phone also comes with a big 5,000 mAh non removable battery that supports 15W fast charge. While this is a good step from Samsung, I still fell they should have gone for at least 33W fast charge as the 15W won’t make much of a difference to reduce the charging duration.

Unknown to many, Samsung is currently the leading in big phone batteries with the Galaxy M51 and the recently launched A32 both having 7,000 mAh batteries. No other brand has come so close, though I stand to be corrected here.

The 32 GB Samsung Galaxy A12 is selling for $179.99 at Amazon while the 128GB one is going for $202.50 the cheapest price ever for a 128 GB memory phone. 

At it’s price tag, the Galaxy A12 has a number of Competitors from almost all phone brands in the country. It’s closest rivals are the Nokia 3.4 which retails at $169.00  for the 4/64 GB, the Oppo A12 which retails for the same price and the Samsung Galaxy M12.

The Galaxy A12 however has an extra advantage of a bigger 128 GB memory something non of it’s rivals has and the Primary 48 MP camera is also a good feature to go for.
