Oppo Reno 4 Price In Kenya And Full Phone Specification.

Oppo Reno 4 Price in Kenya

Released August 2020 the Oppo Reno 4 is one of the best mid-range phones from Oppo with a number of flagship specs at a price of around Ksh. 39,999. It is the successor to the 2019 Reno 3 which had a lot of success in a number of markets including Kenya and the Oppo Reno 4 had the same reception. Despite it’s successor the Reno 5 series already selling in the country, the Reno 4 is still a great phone that anyone is proud to have.

It features a 6.4 inch OLED panel the same size as the Reno 4 Pro and realme 7 Pro both also having a number of similar specs with this phone. The phone is sizable for anyone and fits comfortably in your palm. It is also very light to carry around and at just 169g it is one of the lightest mid-range smartphone around.

The display resolution of this phone is a Full HD+ of 1080 x 2400 pixels which is almost the standard resolution of most phones at this price range. The compact screen size results in an impressive 411 ppi pixel density making the Reno 4’s display one of the best mid-range displays despite not having 90 or 120Hz refresh rate or HDR10 support.

The phone is made of a Glass front, plastic back and a plastic frame. The use of plastic instead of a glass back and a metallic frame was to try and keep it’s price as low as possible but considering that there are a number of 20k phones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 with much durable built than this phone I won’t be surprised if many honest reviewers won’t strongly recommend the Reno 4.

Being a 2020 phone the Reno 4 ships with Android 10 atop the ColorOS 7.2. One advantage of Oppo phones over other brands that target developing countries is it's highly friendly user interface which don't annoy it's users with ads and though the phone comes with a number of pre-installed apps you can actually uninstall them unlike in other brands.
One of the highlights of this phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, a 8nm fabricated chipset that has an Octa-core CPU with a top clock-speed of 2.3 GHz. This is a powerful mid-range gaming chipset that is already powering a number of devices including the Samsung Galaxy A52, the realme 6 pro and the Vivo V20 among other mid-range phones.
Unlike many phones that give you an option to choose between a number of memory variants, the Reno 4 is available in only one memory variant of 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage with an option of an external SD card.
The phone is available in two color variants of Galastic Blue and Space Black.
In the camera department the Reno 4 comes with a total of five Cameras four in the rear and one in front. The rear cameras are made up of a primary 48MP wide lens, an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. While the primary camera looks good to me, I won't have the same feeling about the secondary cameras which are as basic as it gets and to me looks more of an advertisement trick than for real performance.
In front is a single 32MP selfie camera which is pretty good but for some strange reason Oppo decided to use a cut out punch hole that looks to be for a dual selfie cameras when it is actually a single camera. This could have been another trick by Oppo in order to sell the phone and I don't personally like it since as much as it is distractive it is also misleading.
The phone is powered by a non removable 4,015 mAh battery which can last you well over a day with a single charge. It also supports 30W fast charge which is pretty good for a phone at it's price tag.

Oppo Reno 4 Price In Kenya.
The 8+128 GB Oppo Reno 4 is available in Kenya with an average retail price of Ksh. 39,999. At the time of writing this post Jumia Kenya is selling the phone at Ksh. 39,900 which is within it's price range.
At this price the Oppo Reno 4 has a number of Competitors including the Vivo V20, Samsung Galaxy A52, Oppo Reno 5 and realme 8 Pro among other mid-range Smartphones.

Why buy the Oppo Reno 4.
While I personally won't buy this phone due to personal reasons and preference, there are a number of reasons that still makes the Reno 4 one of the best mid-range phones available in the country right now including: A good display with a Full HD+ resolution and an impressive 411 ppi pixel Density.
Good camera performance thanks to the primary 48MP lens which can shoot 4K videos. The 32MP selfie camera is also pretty good making this phone one of the best slefie camera phones out there.
A powerful Snapdragon 720G processor that can handle gaming and multitasking really well.
