While Samsung Electronics prides itself of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra which is a statement of what Samsung has to offer as far as Smartphones are concerned, Realme on the other hand are very proud of their new acquired status as the Ultimate flagship Killer brand after the Launch of the realme GT.
With the Galaxy S21 Ultra priced at around $899.99 the Realme GT costs around $54 which is almost half the price of the S21 Ultra, and therefore might look quite unfair to compare these two devices. While you will have to do with a number of sacrifices if you settle for the realme GT instead of the Galaxy S21Ultra, it still feels amazing to note that these two devices share a feature that’s very critical in the smartphone world; the Processor. Both the Galaxy S21 Ultra (US version) and the Realme GT feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor
In this post we compare the realme GT and the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra Spec-wise so as to give you a detailed comparison of the two 5G Smartphones. Later we look at the pros and cons of one device over the other and their price comparison.

Design
Both the realme GT and the Galaxy S22 Ultra are very beautiful phones, but that’s where the similarities end as far as the body built is concerned. The Galaxy S21 Ultra has a premium built with a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus both in front and back with a metallic frame. This is a statement from Samsung that this is no ordinary phone, and they have every reason to charge you such an amount of money. On it’s part the realme GT has a plastic back with no Gorilla Glass protection, a luxury we will have to let go in order to get a flagship processor phone at almost half the price of it’s Competitors. The Galaxy S21 Ultra measures 165.1 x 75.6 x 8.9 mm while the realme GT measures 158.5 x 73.3 x 8.4 mm. This means that the S21 Ultra is much taller and wider than the realme GT, but is also thicker by around 0.5 mm. With a weight of 227g the S21 Ultra is a huge and bulky phone, and might not impress everyone since it will be all for two handed operations. We can understand that in order to fit the kind of hardware this phone has together and a battery big enough to power the , the result is a phablet which is 8.4 mm thick and 227g. Samsung however did a good job in giving this phone a good body design that sits comfortably in your hand and won’t feel slippery or uncomfortable despite it’s size and weight.
On it’s part the realme GT has a weight of 186g making it light and comfortable for one handed operations. The low weight in this phone could be largely attributed to the use of plastic body, a sizable battery and the less demanding camera hardware which usually contributes a lot to a phone’s weight and bulkiness.
Both phones have very big rectangular camera modules at the back and you won’t fail to notice the premium feel of the S21 Ultra Camera module design known as contour cut design where the metal rail extendsto the camera module resulting in a unique and premium look and feel.
Display.
The realme GT has a 6.43 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It supports 120Hz refresh rate and has a pixel desnity of 409 ppi which is pretty good for a phone at this price. On it's part the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 6.8 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x panel with a WQHD display resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels resulting in a pixel density of 515 ppi. The phone supports a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate which can automatically adjust itself from 10 to 120 Hz depending on the content being displayed. It also Supports HDR10+ and has a peak brightness of 1500 nits. There’s no doubt that this is a top notch smartphone and that’s why the Galaxy S21 Ultra is one of the best Android smartphone around rivaling the likes OnePlus 9 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra as well as the iPhone 12 Pro Max. You will love how crisp and lively images appear on this device and you will love watching movies and playing games on this device. This is a 1,000 dollar phone and Samsung left nothing to chance, and with the Eye comfort Shield protection you won’t have to wory about the harmful blue light.
Cameras.
The two phones have a rectangular camera module Design, but there’s no doubt the camera performance of the S21 Ultra is much more superior than that of the realme GT whose rear cameras are made up of a Primary 64MP wide lens, an 8MP Ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro lens. While the performance of these cameras is as expected of a phone at it’s price, it doesn’t have what it takes to rival those of flagship phones. The Galaxy S21 Ultra on it’s part features a primary 108MP lens the first such in a Samsung phone, a dual telephoto lenses with 3x and 10x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom and a 12MP Ultrawide wide lens. The camera performance of this phone is very good with very clear pictures that are full of detail and color, but it’s performance is when it comes to zooming of distant objects which can go all the way up to 100x. It’s Zoom lock feature locks the image being zoom to focus this eliminating the shaking effect and sound when zooming resulting in very clear pictures. The phone can also shoot up to 8k videos with a new feature known as single shot that allows you pick the best image from a number of pictures taken while the subject is in motion. There’s also the director mode which allows dual video recording from both the rear and front cameras simultaneously with an easy switch between both cameras. You can also do a number of post production video editing as well as take still pictures from recorded video. Knowing too well that such high-res videos consume a lot of storage and there’s still limited 8k compatible screens realme settled for 4k video recording in the GT.
Software performance.
Both phones are powered by the Qualcomm
Snapdragon 888 chipset which is the processor of choice for high end 2021 smartphones. The realme GT is available in two memory capacities of 8+128GB or 12 + 256 GB. The Galaxy S21 Ultra is available in 12+128, 12+256 or 16+512 GB, but you will have to pay more for larger memory. both don’t have SD card Support.
Battery life.
While the realme GT has a 4,500 mAh battery, the S21 Ultra has a slightly bigger 5,000 mAh battery. But you will realize that the battery life of the S22 Ultra might be slightly shorter than that of the realme GT, since the S21 Ultra has a highly power demanding display as well as cameras that can drain the battery pretty fast, especially if display settings are left to auto.
The S21 Ultra Supports 15W fast charge which might not compare too well with the 65W fast charge of the realme GT which realme says it can deliver 100% charge in 35 minutes.
So, which one of the two phones should you go for?
First look at these facts:
- The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a much more premium display quality with WQHD resolution, but both phones have 120Hz refresh rate.
- Both phones feature the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and Android 11 OS.
- Both phones have the same memory size of 12+256 GB, but the realme GT has a 8+128GB variant while the S21 Ultra has a 16 + 512 GB variant.
