Design.
The Mi 11 Lite and the realme GT have almost the same front design with a punch-hole display design that has the selfie camera placed at the top l ft of the screen as opposed to the one placed in the middle as the case in many flagships.
The back of the two phones are however very different with the realme GT using a rectangular camera moduke with a huge strip that runs down the back of the phone. The Mi 11 Lite 5G uses an almost curved square camera module with the back color extending into the camera module setting themacro lens and the LED apart from the lens and the Ultrawide lenses. The Mi 11 Lite 5G is made out of a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 front and a Glass back with a plastic frame. On it’s part the realme GT has a plastic back with no Gorilla Glass protection, a luxury we will have to let go in order to get a flagship processor phone at almost half the price of it’s Competitors. After Xiaomi introduced the IP rating quality with the Mi 11 Ultra, the Mi 11 Lite 5G has an IP 53 rating which makes it splash resistant. However it is not the IP 68 we would have expected to see in this phone.
The Mi 11 measures 160.5 x 75.7 x 6.8 mm while the realme GT measures 158.5 x 73.3 x 8.4 mm. This means that the Mi 11 Lite is much taller and wider than the realme GT, but is surprisingly much slimmer as well. At just 6.8mm thick the Mi 11 Lite 5g is one of the slimmest phones around and at just 159g is also one of the lightest. The realme GT weighs 186g. In order to achieve such slim design Xiaomi had to do away with the 3.5 mm jack port and settle for a 4,250 mAh battery.
Display.
The realme GT has a 6.43 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It supports 120Hz refresh rate and has a pixel density of 409 ppi which is pretty good for a phone at this price. On It’s part the Mi 11 has a 6.55 inch AMOLED display with the same Full HD+ display of 1080 x 2400 pixels resulting in a pixel desnity of 402 ppi. The Mi 11 lite also Supports 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ and can display up to 1Billion colors.
The two phones have almost the same display quality, but it might not be surprising that the Mi 11 Lite is slightly much better in real life situations.
Cameras.
The two phones have almost the same Triple rear cameras with a single selfie camera but with slight variations. The realme GT has a Primary 64MP wide lens, an 8MP Ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro lens. On the other hand the Mi 11 Lite 5g has a 64MP primary lens, a 8MP Ultrawide lens and a 5MP depth sensor. The two phones have almost the same camera performance and can record up to 4k videos at 30 frames per second. The GT has a single 16MP selfie camera while the Mi 11 Lite has a 20MP selfie camera. Both can record 1080p video content.
Software performance.
The highlight of the realme GT is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, the chipset of choice for high end 2021 smartphones. This is why the phone has been largely marketed as a 2021 flagship killer. On it’s part the Mi 11 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G processor which is also 5nm fabricated chipset as well. While the Snapdragon 870G is largely seen as a lite version of the Snapdragon 888 it is still very powerful and is believed to be up to 40% faster than it’s predecessor the Snapdragon 768G.
Both phones run Android 11 OS atop the realme UI 2.0 for the Realme GT and MIUI 12 for the Mi 11 Lite. As to which one is better than the other it is a matter of choice and preference though I would go for MIUI.
Battery life.
While the realme GT has a 4,500 mAh battery, the Mi 11 Lite has a slightly snaller 4,250 mAh battery. Both can last well over a day with a single charge. The Mi 11lite Supports 33W fast charge but is still slightly slower than the 65W of the realme GT which can deliver a full charge in 35 minutes. Both phones don’t support wireless charging.
So, which one of the two phones should you go for?
First look at these facts:
The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite has a much more slimmer and nice design than the realme GT with Gorilla Glass 6 protection and a Glass back while the GT has a plastic back.
Both the realme GT and the Mi 11 Lite 5g have almost the same display quality with Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. However the Mi 11 Lite has a slightly bigger screen.
The realme GT feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Processor while the Mi 11 Lite 5g is powered by the Snapdragon 780G. Both processors are very powerful though realme has a slight upper hand here.
The Mi 11 Lite has 8GB RAM while the realme GT has up to 12GB RAM. Both have up to 256GB storage.
Both phones have almost the same battery performance but the realme GT has a much faster 65W charge. Both include the chargers in the box.
Xiaomi Mi 11Lite 5g has a price tag of around £399 while realme GT has a price of around $540.
As to which phone you should go over the other we leave that to you, our reader to make that informed decision.
