The Nokia 5.1 plus is an upgrade of the Nokia 5.1 announced and released December 2018 months after the release of the Nokia 5.1.
Though the plus version usually has better display and performance than it's predecessor, that might not be the case for the Nokia 5.1 plus and the Nokia 5.1.

Design.
The phone measures 149.5 x 72 x 8.1 mm, slightly longer and thicker than the Nokia 5.1.
The front and back of the phone is made of glass with a plastic frame and has no protective feature so you have to be extra careful with the phone if you're considering having one.
Though it has an impressive 79.6% screen-to-body ratio, the Nokia 5.1 plus has a huge notch making the phone look rather ugly.

Display.
The Nokia 5.1 plus has a 5.86 inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. Though the screen is slightly larger than that of the Nokia 5.1, the low resolution and the extra screen results in an extremely low pixel density of 287 PPI, almost the standard for many budget smartphones.
If you are fond of watching or streaming videos on your phone, then definitely this phone is not for you with such a poor notch and the extremely low pixel density.
To find out how pixel density is calculated and its importance read this article on the Key Smartphone Specs to consider when buying a new smartphone.

Software.
Unlike the Nokia 5.1 which uses a rather old Mediatek Helio p18, the plus is powered by a more powerful MediaTek Helio p60 processor. However Nokia looks like they didn't want the full advantage of this processor and decided to cap it's speed to a maximum of 1.8 GHz with 4 x 1.8 GHz cortex-A73 and 4 x 1.8 GHz cortex-A53 cores.
There are a number of variants with 4 GB, 6GB or 3 GB RAM, but the 3 GB variant is widely available.
Such RAM is enough for your daily needs but the reduced clock speed coupled with the low resolution display won't make your experience with this phone anything better.

Battery.
This is another part that Nokia hasn't been doing good, though the plus has a slightly bigger non removable Li-po 3050mAh battery.

Cameras.
Unlike the 5.1 which has a single rear camera, the Nokia 5.1 plus has a dual camera set up made of a 13 MP main shooter and a 5 MP depth sensor with dual LED flash, HDR and panorama support.
The selfie camera is a single 8 MP wide lens with no video support.

Other features.
The phone is a dual SIM with 3G and 4G network support including the 700 MHz band which is a sort-after feature in some countries.
There is also a rear-mounted finger print scanner and a number of sensors including the accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass.
The phone supports almost all Wi-Fi networks out there and USB 4.2 type c and has an FM radio as well as the 3.5 mm jack.

Nokia 5.1 plus pros:
  • Good screen size.
  • Dual camera set up.
  • Android one
  • Supports band 28.
  • USB Type-C
Cons:
  • Low battery capacity
  • No screen protection
  • Extra large notch.
  • Low screen resolution.
Nokia 5.1 Plus Price In USA.
The Nokia 5.1 Plus is still available in a number of stores across the US with the 3+32GB going for around $169.99.
Conclusion.
Though the Nokia 5.1 plus has a relatively sizable screen and a fairly good processor, the phone has a number of shortcomings to effectively compete with recent phones like the Nokia 5.4.

List of Smartphones With MediaTek Helio G95 processor.

The MediaTek Helio G95 is a mid-range gaming chipset released September 2020 as the successor to the 2019 Helio G90T. The G95 is a 12nm fabricated chipset with an Octa-core COU that has 2 high performance Arm Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.05GHz and 6 efficiency cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz. This is exactly the same arrangement in the Helio G90T as well and both have the same Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. However MediaTek claims that the G95 has a 5% improved CPU performance than the G90T and has a 8% improved GPU performance. This is because the G95 GPU has a clock-speed of 900MHZ as compared to the 820MHZ of the Helio G90T. The Helio G95 can support up to 10GB LPDDR4x RAM meaning many phones featuring this chipset will likely have 8GB RAM. It also has eMMC 5.1 UFS 2.1 storage type.
