Design.
The 7.1 is a beautifully designed phone, Nokia giving it a detailed finish that gives it a premium look.
It measures 149.7 x 71.2 mm and is 8mm thick with a weight of 160 g.
It features a 2.5 D glass back and front, with an aluminium frame that gives it a nice finish.
In order to differentiate it from the Nokia 6.1 Plus, there is an added silver edge all round the aluminium frame and round the rear camera.
At the top is a notch characteristic of many Nokia phones, but with a smooth finish that makes it look appealing.
Display.
The 7.1 has a 5.8 inch screen with a full HD+ display of 1080 x 2280 pixels and an impressive pixel density of 432 ppi with an aspect ratio of 19:9.
As earlier mentioned, the 7.1 becomes the first Nokia android phone to have a pure display which supports HDR 10.
This display ensures a more enriching video experience with an automatic SDR to HDR conversion and a more detailed color and higher contrast giving an amazing photo and video playback.
And to top it up, the phone also has a Corning gorilla glass 3 protection so you don't have to worry about any scratch on your 'expensive' display.
Software.
After it's impressive performance on the 6.1, HMD global also decided to use the Qualcomm snapdragon 636 on the 7.1, an improvement from the snapdragon 430 found in the 6.0.
The only issue I have with this processor is it's slightly slow clock speed of 1.8 GHz.
A combination of 4 GB of RAM and android 9.0 pie gives you an amazing android experience, with good gaming experience and a high multitasking abilities.
As part of android one program, you are assured of a clean android Oreo out of the box with no bloat ware or malware.
