Realme GT 5G Price In Kenya And Specification

Realme GT 5G Price In Kenya

Announced March 2021, the realme GT 5G became the cheapest Snapdragon 888 processor with a retail price of around Ksh. 57, 600 and is now considered the ultimate 2021 flagship killer, a title that has been largely associated with OnePlus. However after OnePlus launched it’s OnePlus 9 Pro priced at around Ksh. 115,000 it was clear that the brand had lost its iconic flagship killer title and realme looks to have been bold enough to take the crown with the release of the realme GT 5G.

It features a 6.43 inch Super AMOLED panel slightly bigger than the 6.4 inch of the Realme 8 though much smaller than in many flagships like the OnePlus 9 Pro or the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. It has an impressive Full HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate and a good 409 pixel density. This is a very good quality display for watching movies and playing games. It’s 1,000 nits maximum brightness is also good enough to used in all lighting conditions including directly under the sun.

Apart from the Glass front, the realme GT is made of a plastic or leather back, and this could have been one key step towards keeping the price of this phone as low as it could go without compromising on the overall performance.

It measures 158.5 x 73.3 x 8.4 mm making it slim enough and though it is slightly thicker than the likes of Vivo X60 Pro which is just 7.6mm thick, the realme Is still quite slim and at just 186g it feel light and good for one handed operations. The phone has got no Glass protection and is not IP rated, but those are just some luxuries we have to trade-in in order to get a flagship phone at half the price.

Being a 2021 phones it ships with Android 11 atop the realme UI 2.0 and Realme have confirmed that the phone will be entitled to at least one major Android update and two years security updates making this phone Android 12 ready.

As stated earlier the highlight of this phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Processor, a 5nm fabricated chipset that is so far the best ever mobile chipset and is already powering a long list of 2021 flagships including the Xiaomi Mi 11& Mi 11 Ultra, Oppo Find X3 Pro, OnePlus 9 Pro and Vivo X60 Pro Plus to name just but a few.

The phone can handle any task you throw at it and with 8 or 12GB LPDDR5 RAM you will multitask and play games on this device with no issue at all. You also get 128GB internal storage for the 8GB RAM variant and 256GB for the 12GB variant. However there’s no option for an SD card and you will have to get contented with the 128 or 256GB storage.

The realme GT comes with a Triple rear cameras and a single selfie camera. The rear cameras are a 64MP primary lens, a 8MP ultrawide lens and 2MP macro lens. The lenses might not have the hardware we see in other flagships like the Mi 11 Ultra or the Galaxy S21 Ultra, and does not have a telephoto lens for optical zoom. That is another sacrifice we have to make for the overall price, and still the 64MP lens is still more than good and you can also shoot 4k videos. In front is a single 16MP lens which is also good enough and gets the job done.

The phone is powered by a 4,500 mAh non removable Li-po battery which can comfortably last you over a day, and the 65W fast charge can achieve 100% charge in just 35 minutes making the realme GT one of the fastest charging phones 2021.
