Nokia 6.2 Full Phone Specifications And Latest Price In Kenya

Nokia 6.2 price in Kenya 2021 and Specifications

First announced September 2019, the Nokia 6.2 began selling in Kenya November the same year as a mid-range Smartphone with an Initial price of Ksh. 26,500.

The Nokia 6.2 is still available in major electronic stores in the country both online and offline, now with a price range of between Ksh. 18,000 and Ksh. 26,000 depending on the amount of memory and the place you're buying the phone.
The sub 25k Nokia 6.2 is a beautiful phone whose good looks were largely compared to the Nokia 7.2, a mid ranger that received mixed reactions when first released in 2019.
The Nokia 6.2 is among the many Nokia 6 series Smartphones including the Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus , Nokia6.2 Plus and the latest being the Nokia 6.3.
The phone is available in four Variants of 3GB/32GB, 3/64GB, 4/64GB and 4/128GB memory, that's why it has a huge price range and you should pay extra attention when buying it to ensure what you're paying for is exactly the price of that memory size.
Largely seen a beefed up version of the Nokia 6.1 Plus, the Nokia 6.2 has a number of noticeable improvements including a much bigger screen, a waterdrop notch and bigger memory.
The Nokia 6.2 features an IPS LCD waterdrop notch display with a 6.3 inch screen much bigger than the 5.8 inch in it's predecessor. The display has a  full HD + resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels, a very impressive display quality for a phone at it's price range.
The sizable screen and good resolution results in an impressive pixel density of 408 ppi, an assurance that you will enjoy watching movies and playing games with this phone, the HDR 10 adding to the overall display experience.
Apart from the improved display, Nokia decided to retail the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, a 14nm mid-range processor that is already powering a number of mid and budget Smartphones including the Nokia 7.1, Redmi Note 5 pro, Lenovo Z5  as well as the Nokia 6.1 Plus among others.

The Nokia 6.2  Pros And Cons.
  • Lovely compact design with a beautiful waterdrop notch, thin side bezels and a Corning Corilla Glass 3 both front and back.
  • A good full HD+ display with 1080 x 2280 pixels and an impressive 400 ppi pixel Density as well as HDR 10 Support.
  • Excellent cameras with satisfactory performance especially the triple rear Cameras.
  • USB-C 2.0 support instead of the old Micro-USB port which is another big plus for this phone
  • Part of Android one program which ensures timely software and security updates.
Some of it's noticeable downsides include:
  • A smaller battery of 3500mAh which can last barely a day with normal use. This could mean your phone could spend a good amount of time on the socket.
  • The Snapdragon 636 seems not to keep up with the futuristic features of this phone.
Nokia 6.2 price in Kenya.
Despite being a 2019 phone, the Nokia 6.2 is still available for sale in the country thanks to it's futuristic features that will still stand the test of time for a good number of years to come.
While Nokia have constantly retained their initial price of Ksh. 26,500, Nokia 6.2 Jumia price is Ksh. 19,497 for the 4GB + 64GB variant and the 4 + 128GB @ Ksh. 26,999.
Based on it's spec list and price, the Nokia 6.2 faces a stiff Competition from the likes of Infinix, tecno and Xiaomi Redmi series as well as the Samsung Galaxy A series and realme as well as Vivo mid-range Smartphones. phones like the Redmi Note 8,and Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 9, the Infinix Note series including the Infinix Note 8 and 7, the Tecno Spark series among other budget smartphones.
Other close rivals of this phone include the realme 6, Samsung Galaxy A50, Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, Huawei Y9, Oppo A9 and it's sister Infinix Zero 8.
The only slight disadvantage that the Nokia 6.2 has over most of these Competitors and rivals is the slightly older Snapdragon 636 processor, with many sub 25K phones now coming with more powerful Chipsets like  the Mediatek Helio G90T in the Tecno Camon 16 Premier and the Infinix Zero 8.
The smaller 3500 mAh battery could also be a significant issue, considering that many budget and mid-range Smartphones now come with at least 4500 mAh battery, but many feature a 6,000 mAh with fast charge support.
However the advantage that the Nokia 6.2 has over most of similar priced phones is  it's high quality display and the compact Glass body. Most phones at this price range have a 720p HD display and are largely made of plastic back with zero protection.
If you would like to consider some alternatives to this phone, then you can go for the Infinix Hot 10, the Nokia 2.4 and realme C12 as well as the C15.

Nokia 6.2 price and specs Review.
Lovely Design.
As earlier mentioned, the Nokia 6.2 is a beutifuly designed phone, a characteristic of many Nokia phones that feature a eunique design that which easily stands out from the crowd. It's high quality finish and well curved edges gives it a much more premium look and no one will even imagine this is a 2019 phone.  Every part of this phone is well done, with a stunning edge to edge design that gives it a seamless look.
It measures 159.9 x 75.1 x 8.3 mm, slightly thicker than the 6.1 plus by just 0.3 mm. At just 180 g, it is one of the lightest Nokia phones and can be comfortably used with one hand without any strain.
Its curved design makes it fit perfectly in your palm and nicely in the pocket.
In order to increase the beauty of this phone, Nokia decided to drop the aluminium body and opted for a 2.5D glass which gives the phone a seamless look, with 93% of the phone being glass.
The Cameras are arranged in a circular module placed at the centre top of the phone, a camera module design that has been largely associated with Nokia since the Lumia smartphones. The fingerprint scanner sits just below it.
Another feature that will immediately attract your attention is the LED notification embedded in the power button, lighting up Everytime you receive a notification. This is one of my favorite features of this phone, but Incase you don't like it for whatever reason you can turn it off in settings.
The Google Assistance button that first featured in the Nokia 4.2 is still prominently placed at the Left hand side, giving you quick access to your AI Assistan which according to Google and Nokia it even gets smarter with use and gets to learn pretty fast of your favorites.
Good display
The 6.2 has a 6.3 inch screen with a full HD+ display of 1080 x 2280 pixels, a good display for a phone at it's price tag. This is the same resolution found on the Nokia 7.1 and 8.1, as well as most mid-range Smartphones of the sub-30K price category including the Samsung Galaxy A50, the Tecno Camon 16 Premier and the Infinix Zero 8 among other mid-range devices.
The high resolution coupled with a slightly smaller screen results to a good pixel density of 408 ppi, and with an aspect ratio of 19:9, you will definitely enjoy watching videos and gaming on this device.

Software Performance.
Like many Nokia phones released in 2019, the Nokia 6.2 runs on android 9.0 (pie), and is readily upgradable to android 10 and could also receive Android 11 update.
Being part of Android one program, you don't have to worry about malware or bloat ware, as the phone comes with a clean version of android with no unnecessary pre installed apps. The Android one platform also ensures timely security and other software updates so this phone will remain relevant for a long period of time to come, an advantage over other Smartphone brands
It also comes with google apps including the google Assistant.
Android 10 also has amazing power saving features, a plus to almost all Nokia phones which have slightly smaller battery capacity.
The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 with octa-core 1.8 Ghz kyro 260 CPU.
Nokia 6.2 Price in Kenya 2021

The snapdragon 636  processor which has a number of features including dual camera set up, 4 K video recording, wireless charging and much more.
It is also the same chip found in the Nokia 7.1, Redmi Note 5 pro, Lenovo Z5 among other phones.
The only issue I have with the snapdragon 636 is it's slightly lower clock speed which is 1.8 GHz, while the Snapdragon 630 found in the 6.1 has a better speed of 2.2 GHz.
The processor handles multitasking pretty well, and combined with the 4 or 6GB RAM you will love how apps open and scroll on this phone, though you may experience some lags once in a while when you push the phone to its limits. Gaming is also good though you might realize a slight struggle when handling heavy graphic intensive gaming, bit considering this is a 2018 phone we must give it up to Nokia for coming up with such a powerful phone that has remained competitive over a number of years, and will probably still be relevant for another number of years to come.
It comes with either 64 or 128 GB internal storage, enough for many smartphone users but if that will not be enough you can epand it using an SD card.

Camera Performance.
The Nokia 6.2 has a total of four cameras, one in front and three at the back. The rear Triple camera setup is made up of a primary 16MP camera, a 8MP ultrawide lens and a 5MP depth sensor.
The primary camera produces surprisingly good photos with satisfactory detail and good colors, especially with sufficient lighting.
The 118 degree wide angle lens significant increases the field of view allowing you out more subjects in the photo frame, coming in handy when taking group photos. However you will have to compromise on the final picture quality, since it's photos are not as detailed as those of the primary lens.
The 5MP depth sensor allows you take Bokeh portraits with a number of Bokeh options to choose from to suit your personal tastes and preffernce.
There are also a number of camera functions to play with on the camera app, including the Night mode that comes in handy during low light conditions.
The overall camera performance of this phone is quite good for a phone at it's price, and 4K video shooting capabilities are also an added advantage, making this phone future proof at least for the next two or so years.
Battery life.
The phone features a non removable Li-po 3500 mAh battery with 10W charge support. While Nokia claims that the battery can last you upto 2 days, this could be much less with heavy use.
The 10W charge is also too slow, especially as per 2021 standards. The Oppo Reno 5 Launched days ago in Kenya has a 50W fast charge support, which might look too overpowering for our Nokia 6.2.
Nokia 6.2 Conncetivity
The Nokia 6.2 is available in a single or Dual SIM variants, both having 2G, 3G and 4G LTE. This phone is one of the very few phones that support Faiba Mobile both data and voice, meaning you can use both faiba VoLTE and VilTE on this device.
It supports a number of wifi WiFi bands including the Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/n/ac, dual-band, wifi Direct and Wi-Fi hotspot.
It also supports multiple Bluetooth bands including the Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, EDR, LE and aptx.
Another lovely feature of the Nokia 6.2 is the USB type-C 2.0 compatibility, a must have feature in recent smartphones.
There are also a number of sensors including the rear mounted fingerprint sensor, the accelerometer, proximity sensor, compass and a gyro for enhanced gaming experience.

Should you buy the Nokia 6.2?

When choosing a smartphone to buy, your choice of specs are largely determined by the amount you're willing to part with, and the specific specs that you feel should be included in your next Smartphone.
Buy the Nokia 6.2 if you need:
  • A phone that is not only compatible with faiba 4G mobile, but supports both voice and data. Many smartphones that are compatible with band faiba mobile only support data, and not voice.
  • A budget smartphone with an impressive display quality of Full HD+ resolution and high pixel density.
  • A compact phone with high durability thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection both front and back.
  • Go for the 4GB + 128 GB variant for maximum memory capacity and improved multitasking experience.
While the likes of Infinix Zero and Tecno Camon 16 Premier could be the best alternatives of this phone, they still cost much more and their bloated OS are a big turn off to many, me included.
The only disadvantage here is that you will have to always travel with your charger. Apart from that the Nokia 6.2 is a good buy at Ksh. 18,4999.
