The Design.
If there's something Oppo have been careful at is the overall look and feel of this phone, and it's size is quite reasonable for any hand size. Measuring 159.1 x 73.4 x 7.9mm, the phone is not big nor small, fitting well into your palm.  It's weight of 213 g adds to the bulgines, and if you're a single handed Smartphone fan, then obviously this is not a phone for you.
The extra weight and thickness is largely attributed to it's battery, which is quite huge as per any standards.
The phone is made of a Gorilla Glass 5 both front and back as well as an aluminum frame.
At the back are the Quad cameras and it's LED flashes neatly arranged in an almost square black rectangle. There is a slight noticeable camera pumb but it has been designed in such a way that it adds to the overall finish and look of the phone.
At the front is a 6.43 inch display, with a punch hole placed at the top left of the phone something that has become a trend nowadays though some brands like Samsung still stick to a centraly placed punch hole.
The bezels are not that quite thin, though not thick either.
At the bottom is a speaker grill, a USB-C port and a 3.5 mm jack. The volume rockers are placed at the right hand side and belwo them is a power button that has an embedded fingerprint scanner. This is become much of a trend nowadays, but we would have preferred an in-display fingerprint instead.

Display.
The Reno 5 has a 6.43 inch OLED display with HDR10 and a 90 HZ refresh rate. It is bigger than that of it's predecessor the Reno 4 by just 0.3 inches. It has a Full HD + resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a pixel density of 410 ppi.
This is  quite an impressive display  and you will have a good viewing experience. Once you get used to it, I don't think you will ever think of the likes of Infinix Note 7 or Those cheap phones that have a 720 p resolution and a pixel density of as low as 250 ppi.
Be it online streaming, gaming or any other task that will glue you to this phone, you will get a good experience that's worth your money. It's 750 nits maximum brightness is good enough to ensure you can use the phone outdoors with no issue at all.

Software Performance.
While Oppo settled for a Mediatek processor in the Oppo Reno 5 Pro, they settled for the Snapdragon 765G a gaming chipset well suited for to tier mid-range phones.
It's Octa-core ( 1 x 2.4 Kryo 475 Gold, 1 x 2.2 GHz Kryo 475 Gold & 6 x 1.8 Kryo 465 Silver  backed by 8 or 12 GB RAM are a great recipe for heavy gaming and multitasking.
The Phone is available in two variants of 8G/128GB and 12/256GB memory.
Being a 2021 phone, it ships with Android 11 atop Oppo's own ColorOs 11.1.  The ColorOs slightly affects the user experience with some ad pop ups, but we can't compare it with the likes of Infinix XOS or Tecno's HIOS which come with disgusting bloatware and ads.
Apart from that, the ColorOs 11.1 is quite a good UI, and apart from one or two bloatware it  receivers timely software updates, and has a number of interesting features you can try out and see which suits your personality or situation.

Camera performance.
Apart from the impressive fast charging technology and the good display, another interesting features of this phone is the cameras. The quad-camera setup is made up of a 64 MP primary camera, an 8MP Ultra wide lens, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP telephoto lens. It's arrangement is a well though out plan, as you can see above. The macro lens is placed beside the ultrawide and not below it, so as to avoid the chances of having your fingers distract your view while taking portraits using the macro camera, a problem faxed by many phones.
At it's price tag we don't expect the luxury of  8K videos, but the 4K resolution is quite good, if you have a matching screen to enjoy such high resolution videos.
In front is a single 32 MP wide selfie camera that can also take videos of 4K resolution.

Conclusion.
While personally I haven't been a fan of Oppo maybe due to their far fetched phone specs or looks or just for unclear personal reasons, Oppo it is a brand that has proofed itself over and over and it's phones are quite satisfactory in terms of performance and with good looks that are usually hard to come by.
Though at first it did struggle with mid-range and high end Smartphones by trying to compete with market Giants like Samsung and Oppo, it is finally back on track and it's Oppo Reno smartphones have been getting a good reception in the market.
The Reno 5 is a good phone that justifies it's price with it's impressive specs and Corilla Glass protection both back and front for that extra durability, and it's a phone that you will be proud of.
