Released March this year, the Samsung Galaxy A72 is now available in Kenya at a price of Ksh. 49,999. It is a mid-range phone that has a number of good specs including a Full HD+ display, powerful Cameras and a good big Memory. 

The Galaxy A72 was Launched together with the Galaxy A52 and is not surprising that both phones have a number of similar specs including the same Snapdragon 720G, same cameras and the same Operating System. 

The Galaxy A72 features a 6.5 inch Super AMOLED screen, the same size as it’s predicessor the Galaxy A51. It is also slightly bigger than that of the Galaxy A5 by just 0.2 inches. The display a Full HD + with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 394 pixel density. 

The phone is made of a Glass front, Plastic back and a plastic frame. It is also IP67 rated making it fully dust resistant and water resistant upto to 1 meter for 30 minutes. This is the same IP rating as the Galaxy A52. 

Being a 2021 phone it ships with Android 11 atop the one UI 3.1 skin. It also spots the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor a 8nm fabricated chipset that has an Octa-core CPU with a top clock-speed of 2.3 GHz. Other phones with the same processor include the Vivo V20, Oppo Reno 4&5, realme 6 pro, 7pro and 8 pro to mention just but a few.

You can choose between three memory Variants of  6+128, 8+128 or 8+256GB, available in four color variants of Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Violet and Awesome Blue. 

In the camera department the Galaxy A72 comes with a total of five Cameras, four in the rear and one in front. The rear cameras are made up of a primary 64MP wide lens, a 12MP ultrawide lens, a 5MP macro lens and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x Optical Zoom. This is the major advantage of this phone over it’s Competitors who prefer a depth sensor instead. Supported Camera features include LED flash, panorama and HDR, and can shoot 4k videos the same as the 32MP selfie camera.

The phone is powered by a non removable 5,000 mAh battery with 25w fast charge.

At this price the Galaxy A72 has a number of Competitors including the Vivo V20, Samsung Galaxy M51 and Oppo Reno 5 among other mid-range Smartphones.
