Vivo China have announced two phones, the Vivo V22 and V21 5G expected to retail at around Ksh. 44,500 once they become available in the country. The two phones have a number of similar specs and closely resembles last year’s Vivo V20 except for a more trendy design which closely resembles a gaming phone. display, powerful Cameras and a good big Memory. 

Just like with the Vivo 20, Vivo focused on the Selfie camera performance which is a 44MP lens with a number of AI enhancements including AI image stabilization, autofocus and AI Night portrait for night selfies. Vivo also claims they have included a ground breaking Light sensor that greatly improved the performance of this camera.

It features a 6.44 inch AMOLED display with 90 Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support.It has a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and 409 pixel Density the same as the V20.  

The V22 will ship with Android 11 atop the Funtouch 11.1 skin, and is likely going to receive Android 12 update. It spots the MediaTek Dimensity 800U, a revolutionary 5G chipset that was announced December last year and is already powering a number of phones including the realme X7, Redmi Note 9T and the recently launched Oppo A94 5G among other mid-range 5G enabled smartphones that have India as their key market.

The Dimensity 800u has a number of revolutionary technologies including Dual 5G, advanced energy saving and 4K video recording and encoding. 

The V21 is available in a single memory variant of 8+128GB available in two color variants of Dusk Blue and Sunset Dazzle. 

In the camera department the V21 comes with a total of four Cameras, three in the rear and one in front. The rear cameras are made up of a primary 64MP wide lens, 8MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP macro lens. This is almost the same camera setup as the V20 but this time Vivo settled for a macro lens instead of a depth sensor. The phone can shoot 4k videos same as the 44MP selfie camera. 

The phone is powered by a non removable 4,000 mAh battery with 33w fast charge that can achieve a 60% charge in just 30 minutes.

The 8+128 GB Vivo V21 is expected to retail at a price of around Ksh. 44,500 once it begins nselling in Kenya. It will be one of the most affordable 5G phones in the country. 

The V20 will face a stiff Competition from other affordable 5G phones including the Vivo V20, Oppo Reno 4, Oppo Reno 5, realme 7 Pro and other mid-range Smartphones.
